The doctor who built this for you.
Dr. Julie Grimes watched too many women be told “you’re fine, it’s just aging,” and decided the answer wasn’t another referral. It was a clinic that does nothing but perimenopause and menopause.

Why I built Mariposa.
I’ve spent over two decades in women’s health, most of it chasing the same goal: making sure women feel truly heard.
Teaching others has always been close to my heart. Explaining the female mind and body in a way that actually makes sense, not just textbook language, has earned me some wonderful recognition along the way.
But somewhere in all that time, women in this stage of life became invisible: rushed through appointments, left out of research, told their symptoms are just “part of getting older.”
I built Mariposa because I couldn’t watch that happen anymore. Every woman who walks through our door is seen, heard, and taken seriously, not just diagnosed.
Specialist care, not a side interest.

“You’re not crazy, you’re not imagining it, and you’re not alone. What’s happening to you is real, and it’s treatable.”
This is a movement disguised as a medical practice.
Six thousand women reach menopause every day in the U.S. Mariposa exists to change what they’re offered, starting in Huntsville, and growing into a community, events, education, and resources for the people who love them.
