Collaborations

She needs more than one of us.

Mariposa treats perimenopause and menopause, and nothing else. That means there is a long list of things we don’t do, and a long list of people in this valley we would rather send her to than let her go looking on her own. If that is you, let’s know each other before she needs us both.

Why this page exists

One clinic cannot cover a whole body.

A woman in perimenopause does not arrive with one problem. She arrives with her sleep, her weight, her mood, her joints, her pelvic floor, her skin, her marriage, and her bloodwork, all moving at the same time.

Mariposa handles the hormonal and metabolic drivers of that: hormone therapy, metabolism, nutrition, sleep, and mood, in one-hour visits with comprehensive labs. That is the whole of what we do.

It is not the whole of what she needs. She still needs a pelvic floor therapist who understands what falling estrogen does to tissue. A strength coach who knows why her body stopped answering to what used to work. A therapist. A dermatologist. A dentist who does not wave off bleeding gums at forty-nine.

Right now most women in North Alabama are assembling that team themselves, by trial and error, while exhausted. We would like to make that unnecessary.

Who we work alongside

If you see women in midlife, we should know each other.

You do not have to be in women’s health. You have to be someone a forty-seven-year-old woman already trusts.

  • Pelvic floor and orthopedic physical therapists
  • Therapists, counselors, and psychiatric providers
  • Registered dietitians and nutrition coaches
  • Strength coaches, trainers, and studio owners
  • Primary care, internal medicine, and nurse practitioner practices
  • Dermatology, dentistry, audiology, and eye care
  • Sleep medicine, cardiology, and endocrinology
  • Employers and HR leaders building midlife benefits
  • Women’s organizations, churches, and community groups
What collaboration looks like

A name and a phone number, not a fax machine.

A clinician who answers

You get a direct line to Mariposa, not a general inbox and not a portal. When you send someone to us, a person confirms it.

A real handoff, in both directions

With her written consent, you get what we found, what we started, and what we are watching. And when what she needs next is your work rather than ours, we send her to you and tell her why.

Your name on this page

Once we have actually worked together, you are listed here, so the women who find Mariposa can find you too.

Education, side by side

Grove Conversations, staff in-services, and community events. If you want to teach alongside us, there is room on the schedule.

No money moves in either direction. We do not pay for referrals and we do not accept payment for them. This is care coordination between people treating the same woman, and that is all it is.

Who you would be working with

Dr. Julie Grimes, MD, FACOG

Twenty-four years in women’s health, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. She built Mariposa because she watched a generation of women, her own mother among them, get told to wait it out.

The list

We are building it right now.

Mariposa opens in Madison this winter, and we are putting the first group of collaborators together before the doors do. If you want your practice in that first group, this is the moment to say so. Founding collaborators are listed first, and they are the ones we call first.

Questions

The things clinicians ask us first.

No. We don’t pay for referrals and we don’t accept payment for them. Nothing of value moves in either direction. A collaboration here means coordinated care for a shared patient and a listing on this page, and that is all it means.
The hormonal and metabolic drivers of perimenopause and menopause: hormone therapy, metabolism and GLP-1s, nutrition, sleep, mood, bone and heart risk, and genitourinary symptoms. We are a menopause clinic and nothing else. See the full list of what we treat.
A flat $299 for a full hour with a physician, comprehensive lab work included. We don’t bill insurance, so there is no claim to file and no surprise bill afterward. She will know the number before she books.
Yes, with her written consent. You get what we found, what we started, and what we’re watching, from a clinician you can reach directly. If we think the next right step is your work rather than ours, we send her back to you and say so.
Often, yes. Employers building midlife benefits, gym and studio owners, women’s organizations, and local businesses whose customers are women in this age range all fit here. Tell us what you have in mind.
